In creating this site, I do collect small bits of data, primarily to fix errors and know how people prefer to navigate through the site. This policy explains what data is collected, why, and how it’s protected.

Opt-out

Before moving onto the nitty-gritty, here’s some ways you can opt out to any data collection for this site:

  • Enable Do Not Track (DNT) in your browser; or
  • Use a browser extension that blocks ads and tracking.

What Data is Collected

Analytics Data

This site uses PostHog to understand how visitors use the site. The following anonymous usage data is collected:

  • Which pages people are visited
  • How people move between pages (for example, if they prefer to use the sidebar, graph, or tags for navigation)
  • Browser type, device type, screen size, and general location (country/region level)

What is NOT Collected

This site does not collect:

  • Names, email addresses, or any personal identification
  • Your specific location at the city/neighborhood/household level
  • Any session recordings or screen captures

Additionally, this site doesn’t use any cookies to collect analytics, so you don’t have to worry about any analytics being collected unless you’re on the site itself — I wouldn’t be able to see if you go shopping somewhere, or browse social media, after you’ve visited this site.

Third-Party Services

Analytics data is processed by PostHog, hosted at app.posthog.com. PostHog is GDPR-compliant and provides privacy-focused analytics. You can find their privacy policy at PostHog Privacy Policy

Additionally, this site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may collect technical information as part of normal server operation. You can find their privacy statement at GitHub Privacy Statement

Data Retention

Analytics data is retained for 1 year, PostHog’s default retention period. After that, it is automatically deleted. No backups are retained.

Your Rights

Data Access & Deletion

If you believe your privacy has been violated, please contact me at the email listed on the contact page.
